Annual General Body Meeting – 2023 –‘24 Udupi, June 25 ‘Alone we may do so little, but together we can do so much '. True to this quote, Education of children is a joint venture between parents and school, with an objective to mould every child into a productive citizen. With this motive in mind, the P.T.A. Annual General Body Meeting - 2023, of St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School, Udupi was held on Saturday, 24th June 2023 in the High School Hall at 10:00 a.m. The Meeting commenced with a melodious prayer rendered by the school choir. The Principal of the school, Sr Lathika A.C. accorded a loving welcome to the gathering and introduced the guest speaker, Rev. Fr Vinay Kumar from Chikamagulur diocese who is an eminent youth motivator. Sr Therese Jyothi A.C. , the Superior of St Cecily’s Convent, Sr Preethi Crasta A.C. , the Joint Secretary and Mrs Prajna Nayak, P.T.A. Vice President also graced the dais. In his address to the parent gathering, Fr Vinay Kumar gave an insight about ‘The psychology of the growing children, their behaviour and the influence of home environment on them. He emphasised the importance of rule of love over rule of law and urged parents to instil in their children the quality of emotional stability which will enable them to muster control over their anxieties or mood swings so that they become tolerant and kind individuals. He also convincingly cleared some queries posed by few parents. Tr Cecilia read out the report of the activities of the P.T.A. during 2022-‘23 and Mrs Evenish D’Souza presented the Financial report of that year. Tr Vidya announced the new members of the P.T.A. Executive Committee 2023-‘24. After an interactive session, all teachers introduced themselves. Tr Jennifer emceed the programme and Tr Teena proposed the vote of thanks.     TEACHERS DAY Location St. Cecilys School, Udupi TEACHERS’ DAY REPORT TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION AT ST CECILY’S ENGLISH MEDIUM HIGHER PRIMARY SCHOOL On 5th September, Teachers’ day was celebrated at St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, with great ardour and joy. The iconic teacher Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was remembered during the occasion. As a mark of the Bicentennial Celebration of the Birthday of our Foundress, Ven. Mother Veronica, the retired teachers of the school were felicitated for their labour of love and dedication by the Principal and the faculty . The programme began with prayer service, where students prayed for the health and prosperity of the teachers. As Muskaan of class 8A welcomed the gathering, a group of students symbolically welcomed everyone with an aesthetic dance. Students also presented a short meaningful dance drama and an entertainment dance too. The tiny tots of the school won the hearts of all teachers and students with their melodious song and a beautiful dance. The school Head boy- Bradley and Head girl -Evelyn, in their speech, thanked the teachers for their loving dedication and commitment. A variety of fun games were conducted for the teachers and winners were awarded prizes. Students expressed their gratitude with a ‘thank you’ dance. This entertainment programme was conducted by the School Cabinet with the involvement students of higher grades. The program concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Evelyn of grade 8.

    Input Session for Teachers Input session The input session for teachers was held on 4th September 2020 at 2:00pm. The programme commenced with a prayer song. Headmistress Sr Jecintha D’Sa welcomed Dr Virupaksha Devaramane, the resource person of the day and greeted the teachers on the occasion of teachers day. The resource person spoke on the topic “Stress Management among teachers”. Teachers suffer more stress than other workers. Due to the present situation of pandemic ordinary classroom has been replaced by the digital classroom. Teachers have been guided by the resource person to accept this situation positively. He also suggested certain tips to overcome stress. Teachers of the campus were present for the session. Tr Vidya proposed vote of thanks. The programme came to an end at 4:00pm with refreshments.     Teachers Activity Report Edward Edward de Bono says creative thinking is not a talent. It is a skill that can be learned. It empowers people by adding strength to their natural activities which improves teamwork, productivity and where appropriate profits. The teaching and non- teaching faculty of our school were given an opportunity to bring out their innate talents. Teachers participated in competitions like cooking without fire; best out of waste, vegetable carving, group song and a week time was given to prepare Teaching Learning Material in every subject in groups. Teacher’s joy in creative expression and knowledge was appreciated by the judges of all the competitions. This week of displaying creativity was an occasion to learn one another activities and encourage each other to be a smart teacher. We celebrate the phenomenal women today. St. Cecily’s English Higher Primary School organised a short programme for our girls and their mothers. The programme began with a prayer dance invoking God’s blessings.Sr Jecintha D’sa ,the Headmistress of the school welcomed the gathering with her beautiful smile and loving words. Sr. Philomena offered a bouquet of flowers to Mr.Charlton Cardoso ,the speaker of the day as a gesture of warm welcome. Our boys and girls conveyed the wishes of the day through a melodious song, rhythmic dance and a value based skit. Mis.Thanushree, the Guinness record holder performed a yoga dance.
